Asian Markets Fall as China Plunges Nearly 7 %

Asian markets sank Monday as Chinese stocks plunged nearly 7 percent and Japanese shares weakened after the country's opposition party came to power in a landslide victory. European stocks were mixed in early trade.

In Shanghai, the main index plummeted 6.7 percent to 2,697.70, adding to a nearly 3 percent decline on Friday. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 1.9 percent. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock average lost 41.61 points, or 0.4 percent, to 10,492.53 after jumping over 200 points earlier in the day.

Renewed selling in mainland Chinese shares reflected the growing unease among investors about government measures to restrict the lavish bank lending that's helped send markets surging this year. Analysts also pointed to concerns about a flood of new shares as lockup periods expire and more initial public offerings come to market. The combination would mean less money to chase more stock.

Lan Xue, managing director and head of China research for Citigroup in Hong Kong, said China's markets are strongly linked to domestic liquidity, and July and August were shaping up as scaled-back periods for lending.

"This is very much contributing to the weakness in the A-share market," she said, referring to mainland Chinese shares. "Whether we'll see more declines depends on sentiment and liquidity the next few months."

In Japan, investors tread cautiously after the Democratic Party of Japan swept to power in national elections over the weekend amid frustrations with the ruling party as the world's second-economy emerges from its worst downturn in decades.

After spiking in the morning, stocks fell as initial enthusiasm over the opposition's victory quickly gave way to concerns about its economic policies and the surging yen. The Democrats are largely untested and there are worries their programs would increase Japan's already ballooning debt, analysts said.

Elsewhere, Korea's Kospi was down 1.1 percent and India's Sensex dropped 1.7 percent despite Asia's third-largest economy picking up pace in the April-June quarter. Australian shares were down 0.2 percent.

As trading got under way in Europe, Britain's FTSE 100 added 0.8 percent, but benchmarks in Germany and France were off by about 0.5 percent. With Wall Street futures lower, U.S. markets were poised for more losses on Monday. Dow futures were down 58, or 0.6 percent, at 9,478 and S&P futures shed 5.9, or 0.6 percent, to 1,021.50.

The heavy selling in China, where quick economic growth and soaring equity prices have helped underpin optimism among Asia investors this year, weighed on sentiment across the region.

Chinese share prices rose more than 80 percent earlier this year before falling back in mid-August. The months long rally coincided with unprecedented lending aimed at fighting off the economic downturn.

Many in China believe that a big chunk of the lending found its way into property and share markets, fueling bubbles in asset prices, though the extent to which such funds were illicitly diverted into speculative investments remains unclear.

On Friday, Wall Street ended the week on a down note, with the Dow falling 36.43, or 0.4 percent, to 9,544.20 in somewhat quiet trade.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 2.05, 0.3 percent, to 1,027.76, while Nasdaq composite index rose 1.04, or 0.1 percent, to 2,028.77.

Crude oil prices dropped in Asia, with the benchmark contract for October delivery lower by $1.14 at $71.62 a barrel. The contract rose 25 cents on Friday.

The dollar fell to 93.02 yen from 93.42 yen. The uro traded lower at $1.4288 from $1.4306.

Seller Island and Site Owner Tracked

Thursday, August 27, 2009

PADANG - Cars sales of three islands to encourage DG Monitoring and Control of Marine Resources and Fisheries Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DKP) out into the field, and even department officials, Aji Sularso confirmed it was coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to track the owner of the site www . privateislandsonline.com. This was done to reveal who the seller and one of two resorts on the island of the Mentawai Islands regency, West Sumatra and demanded the owner of the site.

In confirmation of DKP with West Sumatra provincial government to third-party managers of resorts and islands PT Internusa Joy who runs Macaroni Resort, PT Saraina Koat who manages Kandui Mentawai Resort and PT Mentawai Wisata Surak who manages Siloinak Island, they admit that they never send advertising materials to the site .

All the resort manager claimed never send advertising materials to the site. We will continue to track who is sending the ad material. Address and phone number complete site. So easy to track. But because his home base in Toronto Canada, will be pursued through diplomatic channels.

''The Indonesian Embassy (Embassy) we were there. We'll take action ranging from mild to strong, assertive''Aji Sularso closed after a meeting with the West Sumatra provincial government, local government of the Mentawai Islands, and three of these resorts management company in West Sumatra governor's office, yesterday (27 / 8).

Aji asserted site owners should clarify these publications and apologized to the Indonesian government. Minimal information for sale is replaced with a for rent. Because if rental is possible in the Act.

''But if it turns out the investigation revealed more than just a publication error, and indeed a desire to interfere with state sovereignty, we will be accountable to the law. Consultation with a number of lawyers such as OC Kaligis and Jalal Hashim was done. So even through legal channels we're ready,''he said.

He explained according to the Basic Agrarian Law No. 5 of 1960, Act No. 51 of 1960 and Act 20 of 1961, control of land rights can be done in the form of property rights, the right to cultivate, things to build, lease and other rights.

However, foreign citizens special (WNA), firmly Aji Sularso, can only be done with a rental system. His foreign Itupun be domiciled in Indonesia, he said. Management of a resort island and the three continued a disturbing no sovereignty of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

There are no indications''of law violations in pengelolan maritime tourism in the Mentawai Islands. Because there is no de facto sold islands,''he said.

Although there was no violation of the law, said Aji, but revealed that there are problems in the management of marine tourism in the Mentawai. Regional Regulation (Perda) Mentawai No. 16 of 2007 on Management of Marine Tourism has not yet adopted the substance of BAL No. 5 in 1960 and Act No. 27 of 2007.

As a result, the management of marine tourism is not the public welfare. Recognition Vice Regent Mentawai Sabagallet that Judas Local Revenue (PAD) of the management of the resort is only Rp600 million per year. Should not be Rp600 billion if managed correctly, he said. Because of that DKP, West Sumatra provincial government agreed to form a special team to improve the Mentawai membantua the law.

Management of marine tourism should pay attention Aji said three aspects of the safety of marine resources, partisanship and the principles of sovereignty. Surfing activity so far no attention to the capacity of seating capacity. For example a sea wave of 500 meters can not be opened wide or open acces. Should not be managed ekseklusif.

''So there are classes platinum, gold and other classes. So be sold with high price is not cheap. Therefore there must be oversight. It could be cheaper to pay someone nyelonong to paying expensive area. If in the open acces can also hurt. I could have a collision between one another. This makes us no-class tourism,''he added.

Aji asserted there was no point to open maritime tourism if not the economic impact for the community around. Therefore there should be for local alignments.

Besides''entries in the form of PAD, there must be also allocated funds for community development,''he said.

Vice Regent Mentawai Sabagallet Jude describes two resorts and one of the island is still contracted status. Macaroni Resort area of 6 hectares of Afrizal hired by PT Internusa Joy for 30 years, Kandui Resort with an area of 9.1 hectares of land owned by Anom Suheri, indigenous people and an area of 4.7 hectares Siloinak Robi's Mayersha contracted by Gilles Bordossiule for 20 years.

Special Siloinak new 2-year temporary permit that is still in the process, he explained. All of these efforts Judas said, nothing is purely controlled by foreigners. The main director of the
companies managing marine tourism is a citizen of Indonesia.

Siloinak Island''for example, Gilles Bordossiule contracted, his position as commissioner only. The company's business that is PT Mentawai Indonesia Tours by Surak president Safitri Novi Leni,''said Jude.

He admitted there are still many weaknesses in the management of marine tourism in the Mentawai. For Perdanya made in 2007 and still refer to the old Law on Tourism.

Director of PT Koat Mentawai Saraina Anom Suheri admitted his side had never put any advertising materials, including selling the island to the site.

''It's every person who has the capacity to meet with us, always be offered for investment in the Mentawai islands, but not selling. It could be that broker's site manager. But the logic that if there was going to buy a team certainly came to the site, including asking the term. If you do not sell the island possible. Unless the investment would be just. The model could have Foreign Investment (PMA), and other rental system brightness. Anom admitted for managing marine tourism is still need foreign intervention. We can not work alone. Not to many local people who could manage marine tourism. Alien intervention's no problem. We expect it devisanya,''said Anom length.

Scuba Diving Bali

Sunday, August 16, 2009

Despite a series of terrorist bomb attacks in 2002 and 2005 killing hundreds of tourists and locals hitting the tourism industry hard for short periods, the tropical Indonesian island of Bali is still attracting many vacationing tourists.

Tourists are attracted by the island's rustic charms, mystical culture and tradition, spectacular tropical sceneries and beautiful white sandy beaches. Many of these tourists are also scuba divers and are in Bali for scuba diving. After all, Bali was voted by several scuba diving magazines as one of the top ten dive location in the world.

Bali have many scuba diving locations where awesome underwater landscape and marine creatures abound. Let's take a tour of some of Bali's diving destinations.

Sanur and Nusa Dua - These 2 dive spots are located just 5 minutes away from the shore and therefore are very accessible. Beginners and novice divers will enjoy diving here because of the very gentle current. Visibility depending on seasons is low to moderate. Although hard corals are scarce, the many species of colorful fishes made up for the shortfall. Soft corals and sponges can also be found thriving on the reefs.

Nusa Penida and Lembongan Islands - Drop off reef diving is the main attraction on these islands. It is a 45 minute speedboat ride to the islands. Water visibility is rated as good because the islands are further away from the coast and therefore less polluted. The current here is very strong and experienced divers can enjoy drift diving. Sometimes the current may get too strong and dives may be abandoned.

There is a very good variety of hard corals, colorful sea gorgonian fans and many huge pelagic fishes to see. Highlights of diving here are sightings of huge schools of sweet lips fish, huge hawksbill turtles, sharks and giant manta rays.

Amed and Jemeluk Beach - These dive spots are one and half hour from Denpasar, a popular tourist town. Only experienced divers can dive here because of the strong current. The dives here can be very spectacular because of the long coastal reef, reef slopes and wall diving. Water visibility is moderate to good. This diving location is reputed to be the home of the best hard coral community in Bali.

The Padang Bay - This dive scuba diving location in Bali have a flat bottom seabed and is made up mixed reef and sandy bottom. Because of its close proximity to the shore, the water visibility is rated at best to be moderate. The attractions here are frequent sightings of large triggerfish and blue-spotted stingrays.

Tulamben Wreck Dive - For those who enjoy shipwreck diving, then this is the dive site in Bali that you must not missed. Water visibility here is fair to good and the current is generally gentle. Night dive on this wreck is described by many divers as spectacular.

The wreck was the USS Liberty, sunk in World War 2 by Japanese submarine torpedoes 1942. Since the wreck is so near the beach, scuba divers can simply swim to the wreck from the beach.

These are merely some of the many scuba diving destinations in Bali. For more excellent diving sites, you can check out with the many scuba diving operators when you are in Bali.

9 Important Tips for Blogging

Thursday, August 13, 2009

With the software that blogging have nowadays, setting up one is much easier than it used to be. Blogging has become the trend of today. They have also become a great tool that most businesses use to get the attention of more customers. For the independent professional, blogs are an easy communication tool to enhance credibility and trust among customers. Besides that, blogs make it easy for other people to locate you on the Internet.

But then, 9 out of 10 blogs that are created have the tendency to be abandoned because they can take up a lot of time. And time is one thing that professionals do not have so much of. The result may not seem apparent in the beginning but it will be later on. There are some keys to making your blog work best for you, instead of you working for it.

Once you learned and incorporated these steps, it will only take you less than 20 minutes to post one entry. But it is already advised that additional minutes should be spent on reviewing, reading and commenting on your blog and other blogs sites on the internet. This way, you get to keep your customers and gain potential ones. What are seven ways of setting up a successful blog?

1. Write important and unique contents. You can also narrate and share stories to highlight your knowledge and expertise. Never forget how telling your readers how you deal with clients. Let them know the value of what you are offering. And make it easy for them to contact you if they have questions to ask or if they want to avail your services.

2. Put up something new twice or thrice weekly. It does not to be very long articles. Short articles are fine as long as the essence and value is there.

3. Link to other useful resources available on the web. This is very important in order to build traffic expanding your target market. You can research online for topics you can post that is related to your site offering. If possible, write out comments on other blogs. Let them know that you are spending time reading about them so they know that you are always available.

4. Do not forget to submit to blog directories and do trackbacks. If you do not have any idea how to do this, get the help of someone that is an expert on that field. You can also read some blog tutorials available on some sites. Ebooks are also offering some tips and techniques on how to go about blogging.

5. Keep track of your visitors. Have a counter set up in your blog so you will see who has been reading your posts. This will also help you in figuring out the number of people that are coming in and coming back to your blog.

6. Make a list of all your products and services. Check if the landing pages are linked correctly. Nothing can turn off visitors quickly than having been linked to some site not in any way related to your blog. If you have a shopping cart, you can use your affiliate links and ad tracking features for easy access.

7. Remember to link to your own website and vice versa. It is better to have a different site dedicated to your blog than having one incorporated to your website. Having it separately increases your chances of getting more and varied types of visitors. Why do your advertising in one when you can do it in the ways.

8. Blogs should not be pure "sales talk". Readers are a lot smarter nowadays. They can sense marketing from afar. If this happens, they will not be interested in continuing on because they do not want to be marketed on. They encounter those things everyday so spare them the suffering.

9. Be patient. Although there are some blogs that work right away, some takes time. Update, update and update but do not expect instant result to come pouring in. Just sit back and think of other techniques you can use to your blogs to make it more successful. Blogging should not be set aside as something unimportant. It can be very useful for you once you know what you are doing. To stay on top of some of the tips, advice, and ideas out, keep visiting my blog Beginners Internet Business Journal.

10 Things To Do In Bali

Saturday, August 8, 2009

Bali's varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides provide a picturesque backdrop to the colorful and deeply spiritual culture of this "Island of The Gods." Below are a few questions that are commonly asked plus tips on the do and donts of Bali Travel.

Do you need a visa for travel to bali?

In general you don't need to get a visa before you to Bali from most countries. A visa costs approximately US$10 for 7 days/US$25 for 30 days. If you have a Hong Kong SAR or Macau SAR passport, then you will get a free visa.

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Indonesia, and you must have proof of onward passage (either return or through tickets). If you cannot fulfill both of these requirements, you may not be allowed to enter the country.

The Visa on Arrival is non-extendable and cannot be converted into a different visa. Once you disembark, you will come to an area where you buy your visa. (Do not miss this section). AFTER you have paid for and received your visa you THEN proceed to Immigration where your visa will be processed.

Is it safe to travel to Bali?

On October 12, 2002, the most commercialized, southern area of Bali came under attack by terrorists. The Kuta Beach tourist area is often referred to as "Little Australia" by the local people because it is known to primarily cater to Australian tourists and surfers. This shocking tragedy sent the message around the world that no tourist destination is completely safe in our dangerous times. What a disappointment to all who have come to deeply appreciate the hospitable Balinese people and their culture. But the intent of the perpetrators was to strike at Western revelers and their commercialism. Since Bali as a whole is primarily unscathed by such ugly decay, the Balinese culture remains untouched. However, the impact on the tourist economy has not been minimal.

In recent years, tourism has contributed significantly to the financial well-being of the island and even to Indonesia as a whole. Swift efforts by the government to ensure a speedy recover are underway. Strict security measures have been implemented. Some countries have already lifted travel warnings implemented, and tourism to Bali is again on the rise.

Do I need a License to drive or Ride in Bali? Yes. If you live in Australia, then the best way to do this is to see your NRMA branch and apply for an International Drivers License which will cost you $25 for one year. Other countries: see your roads and traffic authority to apply for an international licence. This is easy to do, will save you the headaches of police fines and problems; and will be a lot easier than applying for a temporary license once you get to Bali as this takes a full day in Denpasar filling in applications and doing the test.

More Bali Tips:
